Sex And The City’ star’s lesbian love
Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon insists she didn’t "struggle" with her sexuality when she realised she had fallen in love with a woman.
The flame-haired actress left her male partner Danny Mozes and their two children, nine-year-old Samantha and Charles, three, after falling in love with Christine Marinoni two years ago.
Cynthia, 40, who played straight-talking lawyer Miranda Hobbes in the ground-breaking series, claims the only weird thing about starting a lesbian relationship was being in the public eye.
She told New York magazine recently: "I never felt like there was an unconscious part of me around that woke up or that came out of the closet; there wasn’t a struggle, there wasn’t an attempt to suppress.
"I met this woman, I fell in love with her, and I’m a public figure."
The star was surprised by how much attention her private life received.
She revealed: "I feel like there was an enormous temperature spike. There were paparazzi outside my house. My girlfriend had the English press on her parents' lawn. Every person she went to high school with got a phone call. They almost put me on the cover of People magazine. And then it died, because there wasn't really anything to say."
Cynthia mused: "I can't remember in what context they tell people this, but if someone is chasing you, stop running. And then they'll stop chasing you."
